Dataminer PlayStationSize published a post hinting at a PlayStation 5 version of The Last of Us Part II, then Insider Gaming contacted him and he confirmed that we're talking about a native version of The Last of Us Part II for PlayStation 5 that has been added to the PlayStation database.
The game itself was released in 2020 on the PlayStation 4, and in 2021, it was accompanied by a nextgen patch for the PlayStation 5, which allowed for 60 fps to be enabled, as well as reduced load times.
It's likely that by "native version of The Last of Us Part II for PlayStation 5" they mean a remaster (after all, the game itself is only 3.5 years old). If Sony will continue its policy of porting games to PC and will publish this version of the game on PC, then the question of exclusivity of games on PlayStation will become even bigger, after all The Last of Us Part II game of the year 2020 (according to The Game Awards) is one of the main PlayStation exclusives.
A new edition of The Last of Us Part II was also hinted at earlier by the game's composer Gustavo Santaolalla.
Perhaps the trailer of the new version of The Last of Us Part II will be shown at The Game Awards 2023, which will be held on December 7 (Pacific Time).
