On November 8, Jason Schreier (a reputable insider and journalist) stated that Rockstar Games would announce GTA VI by the end of the week and that the trailer would be shown in December.
Shortly afterward, on the same day, Rockstar Games posted on their social media, “confirming” that the GTA VI trailer would be shown in December, likely at The Game Awards 2023, which will take place on December 7.
"Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games. Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about - without you, none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us. In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution. We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you. Thank you, Sam Houser"
After Jason Schreier's words were confirmed, he was accused by Chris Klippel (journalist and insider), he said that Rockstar Games had to announce the GTA VI trailer earlier than they planned due to a leak from Jason Schreier, and also that Rockstar would An investigation is being conducted to find out who Schreier's informant was.
Shortly after, Jason Schreier responded that the company's plans for announcement with the leak had not changed, and that they were already planning their announcement for November 8th.
Interestingly, in their post, Rockstar Games again wrote "next Grand Theft Auto" which could suggest that the next installment will be called something other than GTA VI (such as GTA 6 or somehow different).
The gaming community speculates that GTA VI will be released in 2024-2025.
